About the Company
Our client is a leading global integrated supply chain manager, processor and grower of agricultural products and food ingredients, supplying various products across 16 platforms to over 13,000 customers worldwide. With a direct presence in more than 65 countries with sourcing and processing in most major producing countries, our client has built a global leadership position in many of its businesses. In Australia & New Zealand, we operate in multiple products including coca, dairy, and almonds.
About the role
The purpose of this role is to support the Operations Supervisor in the coordination, leading and supervising the day-to-day orchard operations and activities of orchard personnel.
Responsibilities
- Support the Operations Supervisor by maintaining farm records and accurately and proactively plan orchard activities and ensure delivery of plans are in accordance with Management Plan and budget Actively contribute to and support the development of best practice management plans
- Ensure all orchard machinery is safely and correctly set up to operate. Demonstrate multitasking abilities in the operation of different equipment
- Ensure orchard hygiene and identify trees affected by disease. Guarantee the environment protection through the correct use of pest and disease spray
- Actively contribute to achieving the overall goals of the company whilst providing clear direction to contracted staff and assigning tasks effectively
Requirements
Education / Experience / Skills
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the Almond or horticultural sector and experience working with field personnel. Experience in irrigation is desired but not required
- Demonstrated ability to operate machinery, risk assessment skills, ability to maintain a high level of communication and have a ‘duty of care’ mindset when completing tasks
- Current unencumbered drivers’ licence to be able to drive on public roads. Current Chem Certificate
