About the Company

Our client is a leading Australian horticultural enterprise with a reputation for innovation, efficiency, and sustainable orchard management. They operate extensive horticultural assets across the region and are now seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to lead the upkeep and reliability of all farm machinery, vehicles, pumps, and infrastructure

About the role

Reporting directly to the Farm Manager, this hands-on leadership role is responsible for planning and executing maintenance activities that keep farm operations running at peak efficiency. You’ll coordinate servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs across a diverse fleet of machinery and irrigation infrastructure, while supporting a small maintenance team in achieving operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee all maintenance, servicing, and repairs on farm machinery, vehicles, and infrastructure
• Implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and ensure high equipment reliability
• Support and mentor maintenance and operations staff in safe equipment use and daily pre-start inspections
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records in accordance with company standards
• Manage parts inventory and coordinate external suppliers and contractors as needed
• Assist the Farm Manager with asset replacement planning, budgeting, and improvement projects
• Promote safety and compliance through strong adherence to WHS policies and procedures

Requirements

Education / Experience / Skills

• This role suits an experienced maintenance professional who thrives in a fast-paced agricultural or horticultural setting.
• You’ll have strong mechanical aptitude, practical leadership ability, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and operational standards
• Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Agricultural Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• Proven maintenance management or supervisory experience in a horticultural, agricultural, or industrial environment
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills across a variety of machinery and systems
• Strong organisational and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and efficiency
• Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Current driver’s licence
