About the Company

Our client is a leading independent supplier of rural services across the East Coast states of Australia. They have a full-service team providing a large range of farm inputs, products and technical advice to a wide range of farming clients.

About the role

We’re seeking an experienced Lead Agronomist to deliver expert fertiliser advice and agronomic support to horticulture growers across the Goulburn Valley region. This hands-on role combines technical field work, grower engagement and commercial support to drive crop performance and customer satisfaction. Internally you will lead commercial positioning with key suppliers and development and training of Agronomists with the horticultural fertiliser portfolio.

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored fertiliser and crop nutrition programs for horticultural crops
• Design, manage and analyse field trials, soil and tissue testing and on-farm demonstrations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, distributors and internal teams
• Provide technical training and mentoring to agronomy and sales staff
• Prepare agronomic reports, management plans and commercial proposals
• Feed agronomic insights into product development and regional strategy

Requirements

Education / Experience / Skills

• Degree or diploma in agronomy, agricultural science or related discipline
• Proven horticulture/fertiliser agronomy experience, ideally in an on-farm advisory capacity
• Strong understanding of soil science, plant nutrition and crop management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills
• Self‑motivated, able to manage multiple projects and travel regionally
• Experience designing trials and interpreting agronomic data
