About the Company
Our client is a locally owned and operated rural merchandise and agricultural supplies business, and a proud member of the National Rural Independents group. From our Koorda base and new Merredin branch, we supply local farmers with livestock feed, rural merchandise, fencing, agricultural chemicals, animal health products and general farm supplies.
About the role
We’re now seeking a Sales & Customer Service Representative to join our growing team in Merredin, WA.
This is a full-time, in-store sales and customer service role with a strong focus on looking after local farmers and rural customers.
Main Responsibilities
(must be demonstrated in your application letter/resume)
• Serving walk-in and phone customers in a rural merchandise / farm supplies environment
• Providing basic product advice on livestock feeds, animal health, ag chemicals, fencing and general farm hardware
• Preparing quotes, invoices and sales orders using POS / inventory systems
• Building strong, long-term relationships with farmers and local businesses
• Supporting stock control – receipting stock, merchandising, stocktakes and general store presentation
• Assisting with orders, deliveries and loading (forklift use where licensed)
• Working closely with the Branch Manager and team to achieve sales and service goals
Education / Experience / Skills
• Experience in sales and/or customer service – ideally in rural merchandise, hardware, agribusiness, trade, retail or similar
• Genuine interest in agriculture, livestock, cropping or rural life
• Good communication skills and a friendly, down-to-earth approach
• Confidence using basic computer/POS systems and handling cash/EFT
• Good organisation skills and attention to detail with orders and stock
• Willingness and physical capability to help with manual handling and loading
