About the Company
Our client is an agricultural service company based on Eyre Peninsula South Australia. This farming region is considered a progressive area with growers embracing a rapid adoption of new technology and farming techniques.
About the role
Based in Kimba, South Australia, the role will support a progressive broadacre farming client base across the Eyre Peninsula, providing practical agronomic advice across cropping, pasture systems, plant nutrition, fertiliser, chemical, seed and crop protection programs. The original position description is centred on agronomic advice, key client support, broadacre cropping, pasture management, plant nutrition, sales growth, supplier engagement and farm planning.
Responsibilities
• Providing high-level agronomic advice to broadacre farming clients across cropping, pasture, fertiliser, chemical, seed and plant nutrition programs
• Managing and growing a portfolio of key agronomy clients through strong technical advice, seasonal planning and regular on-farm contact
• Developing crop protection, nutrition and input programs that support profitable, sustainable and practical farming outcomes
• Building long-term relationships with growers, suppliers, industry bodies and local farming groups
• Driving commercial growth through increased agronomy-related sales, client retention, new business development and whole-farm input planning
Education / Experience / Skills
• Tertiary qualifications in agronomy, agricultural science, plant science, crop science or a related discipline
• At least 5 years’ practical field agronomy experience, preferably in broadacre cropping
• Strong knowledge of crop protection, fertiliser, plant nutrition, seed, pasture systems and broadacre farming enterprises
• Commercial experience in rural merchandise, agronomy sales, agricultural consulting or farm input advisory
• Sound computer skills, with experience using agronomy, farm planning, CRM, POS or recommendation software highly regarded
• A current driver’s licence
