About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Feedmill Manager to lead daily feed and commodity operations at Koojan Downs Feeding Facility — WA’s largest, and one of the most progressive feedlots in the country.
This is a hands-on leadership role inside a fully vertically integrated beef business (Harvey Beef, Leeuwin Coast), backed by six generations of agricultural heritage. You’ll be responsible for keeping the mill running at full operational efficiency, ensuring rations are formulated and delivered on time, and making sure cattle nutrition and welfare standards are met every day.

Main Responsibilities

You’ll lead and supervise the feed team, overseeing the formulation, allocation and delivery of daily cattle feed rations, and the milling of raw materials. You’ll coordinate mill and feeding operations to optimise feed intake, maximise production, and keep operating costs in check — while ensuring feed trucks, the commodity shed and liquid handling area are kept in well-maintained, working order.
You’ll maintain a high standard of quality control across ration and commodity testing, KPI monitoring, and FY3000/DigiStar data entry. Safety sits at the centre of the role — you’ll drive a proactive, safety-first culture and make sure staff are trained, inducted, and compliant across all areas of the operation.
This role also carries real mentoring responsibility — you’ll be hands-on developing younger staff on the mill, building their skills and confidence so the team’s capability grows alongside the business.

Requirements

Education / Experience / Skills

• Minimum 2 years’ leadership experience in the operation and management of a livestock enterprise
• Cattle feedlot and/or feedmill experience essential
• Experience with Elynx (Feedbunk), DigiStar and Genius software highly regarded
• Experience with batch boxes
• Proven staff management experience and a progressive, positive attitude
• A genuine interest in mentoring and building the capability of younger team members
• Genuine dedication to animal welfare
• Mechanical aptitude, with experience maintaining mill infrastructure and mobile plant
• Current driver’s licence; comfortable operating front-end loaders, HR trucks, skid steer and telehandler
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with solid Microsoft Office skills
