About the Company

Our client is a boutique, agriculturally focused accounting practice based in Dowerin in the WA Wheatbelt. The firm works closely with farming families and rural businesses, alongside a broader mix of micro, small and large business clients, individuals and self-managed super funds.

About the role

Most of this job is face-to-face. You’ll meet farming clients on their properties to go through their accounts, tax position and plans for the business. You’ll have your own client list, and you’ll do the technical work yourself. It’s a traditional “crunch your own numbers” practice with minimal graduate oversight.

Main Responsibilities
(must be demonstrated in your application letter/resume)

• Agricultural and farm business accounting and tax
• Micro, small and large business clients
• Individual tax returns
• SMSF accounts and compliance
• Practical tax, structuring and business advice for farming families

Requirements

Education / Experience / Skills

• Qualified accountant, ideally CA or CPA
• Exposure to farming or agriculture, ideally a farming background or experience with agricultural clients
• Registered Tax Agent, or eligible to register
• Solid public practice experience in business and individual tax
• SMSF experience an advantage
• Comfortable sitting down with clients on farm and explaining the numbers in plain language
• Current driver’s licence and happy to travel regularly to client properties
• Open to regional living. City or hybrid is considered if you can get out to clients in person regularly
